Psalm 118 - This is the day that the Lord has made - we will rejoice and be glad in it!


“Sing” - Now thank we all our God


I learned after selecting this, and using it at the eChurch service (even though we have often sung it on Mothering Sunday before), that this hymn was written in Germany at a time of national turmoil (Thirty Years’ War) when people were on shut-down, experiencing famine too, and reduced to eating rats. Let us be spared any similar dire experiences, but let us be thankful for all that we do have, by God’s grace.

A Prayer we share in together - God is here

As we gather where we are - God is here As we gather in this different way - God is here Praise him in our homes, if not in church - God is here Restricted and confined by government instructions, we are not going out, yet - God is here We are cut off and separated from each other, yet - God is here We are denied our normal rhythms and routines, yet - God is here Praise him all you people - God is here Praise him all you households and homes - God is here Praise him people on your way, even when we are going nowhere - God is here Say it to each other now - God is here Say it to the world around us - God is here Say it to the ever-present Lord - God is here All creation sings God's praise - God is here We join in that praise and say - God is here. Amen

Bible Reading Philippians 4, 4-9

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

“Sing” - All my hope on God is founded (BPW 327)

These words were sung at Church Parade last Sunday, to a brighter tune than we managed (the last thing we sang together in church in morning worship before the shutdown!!)

Greeting to Jam Club members as they take leave seems very appropriate as we take leave:

Me to you all - The Lord be with you! Your response to each other - And also with you!
